Kardashian card Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, Kardashian card "predatory" fees, The Kardashian Kard---America’s most highly paid reality TV stars and a great marketing conduit for a variety of brands, the name of Kim Kardashian automatically comes to mind.

Kim Kardashian shot up to the celebrity status in October 2007 when she, along with her family, got a leading role in the reality series “keeping up with Kardashians”, under the banner of E! television.

The show follows the day-to-day domestic lives of Kim along with her sisters, Kourtney and Khloe, with her ex-athlete stepfather Bruce Jenner, and her extended family. Her resume grew phenomenally since 2011.


In January 2011, her career got a major fillip with “Kourtney and Kim Take New York” which was the second sequel to the show (the Kourtney and khole Take Miami is the first spin-off of Keeping Up with the Kardashians) which premiered in January 2011 on E! in the United States and Canada. The series that followed kim and her female siblings as they left for Los Angeles in order to start a third DASH boutique in New York City.

The Kardashian sisters entered into the arena of finance in the previous year with a prepaid MasterCard named as the Kardashian kard and which was aimed to teach the youngsters about the responsible spending. But, after a warning issued from Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal about the card’s price gouging the sisters had to withdraw the support for the debit card just three weeks after the launch of the product.

A judge threw out a $75 million lawsuit claimed against the Kardashian sisters for backing away from the endorsement. Apart from this there are other sources of revenue though not as forthcoming as the other ones.

The TV shows are nothing as compared to the other sources of kim’s revenue such as DASH boutique where she is the co-owners with her sisters and the clothing line for the retail store Bebe. The list of her product endorsements and the advertising deals start from the much hyped Cakes Va-Va-Va-Nilla cupcake mix to the Sketchers Shape-ups trainers and the Kotex Pantyliners and K Dash for QVC clothing. her namesake fragrance earned more than $6 million in retail sales in 2011-2012.

With sisters Kourtney and Khloe she designed a clothing line, Kardashian Kollection for Sears, opened a new location of the family boutique, DASH, and celebrated the launch of Kardashian Khaos, a specialty store in Las Vegas’ Mirage hotel. Apart from this Kim also promotes weight loss products such as Quick Trim.

Within her livery is also her personally licensed Beach Bunny Swimwear. Not only this, she also has Kardashian workout video apart from having a jewellery range. Her work out video is titled, ”Fit in your Jeans By Friday)”.

If added up, her total wealth amounts to an estimated total of $45 million. She rakes in $40,000 per episode of the reality television series and can charge $10,000 from sponsors for every Tweet that she broadcasts on the Twitter. For guest appearances in the hosting events and the clubs she also charges exorbitantly.

She was ranked #1 reality TV stars because of the fact that her yearly earning was $6 million in 2010, which she donated ten percent to charity. And this is the amount of earning before the time she shot up to fame.

Now the question is how did she become the money minting machine? It is reported that she had a good start in her life as she inherited multi-million trust fund from her father who was a top attorney.

Being serendipitous she grabbed all the opportunities that came her way. As she was surrounded with the Hollywood A-listers, so her ambitious got aided and abetted right from an early age. Robert Kardashian, her father, was defence attorney for American Football star O.J. Simpson in his 1995 murder trial.

Initially she projected herself by hanging out with Paris Hilton and right afterwards made headlines and gained rich exposure when in 2007 she fought a legal battle against the unauthorized distribution of a home made sex tape with the former boyfriend Ray J, a hip hop singer and the sibling of her client Brandy.

The tape became an instant hit all over the internet and catapulted kim to the stature of a world renowned celebrity. Kardashian sued Vivid for ownership of the tape. In late April 2007, Kardashian dropped the suit and settled with Vivid Entertainment for $5 million.

Soon after the reality show aired and then followed the millions. She was married to basketball star Kris Humphries and after 72 days of marriage, Kardashian filed for divorce from Humphries. Kris Humphries has a net worth $8 million, the couple sign a prenuptial agreement before their marriage. As the wealth of Kardashian is higher, the agreement was considered to be quite shrewd on her part.
